This is a classic ski mountaineering itinerary in the upper Val dei Mocheni, linking several ski peaks with splendid north-facing slopes often covered in powder snow.
It is always advisable to consult the snow and weather bulletins on the website www.meteotrentino.it and contact the local section of the Italian Alpine Club, the SAT of Pergine, for up-to-date information on the avalanche risk.

Palù del Fersina
The starting point is Palù del Fersina, a small municipality at the top of the valley which brings together a series of “masi” (farmsteads); Palù is the main town in the valley, but it is little more than a hamlet and home to the Mocheno Cultural Institute. After Palù the road ends at Frotten (Vrottn in the Mocheno language) where there is a large car park (camper van area also); here you can also enjoy a coffee in the morning and sandwiches or a strauben (a typical fried cake with cranberry jam) in the little wooden house always open.
There is a charge for parking. It is mandatory not to park along the steep, narrow road.
